WE LIVE IN THIS TOWN

A collaboration album between me and Noah Eichert. I'm not gonna go into detail on every track, since I've already done that on the album's actual page. I'll paste the descriptions here, though.

90% of "Channel Guide" is Noah's work. I only did the noises at the end and also the bitcrushed static, but nothing else.

"City Lights" was one of the first tracks that I knew was gonna end up on the album. I remember I just took some very basic synthwave chords, bassline, drum pattern, etc, and then Noah added more patterns and other backing instruments. There's also an alternate version of this track with an added four-note pattern, that only plays in the album's trailer.

The main chords and "melody" of "Fulp" was made by Noah, and he shared the first wip of it to me via Discord which I then expanded upon. We took turns adding parts to the song until it kinda stopped making sense, which is maybe why it sounds kinda weird, haha.

"Sensory Deprivation Tank" was a simple loop that was expanded on, just like most of the other tracks on here. I think this was about the point where I wanted the songs on this album to be as varied as possible, which is why a little bit of the songs on here are basically just multiple songs in one.

I believe "Capture And Release" was made way before we actually decided on a certain style for the album, since it definitely stands out from the rest due to it being very fast-paced while the rest of the album is either mid-tempo or slow and brooding.

Just like "Capture And Release", "Ivory Rave" is also very different from the style of the rest of the album. It's poppy, loud, and even a little bit obnoxious. Midway through though, it kind of devolves into acid trip-like ambience mixed with bitcrushing and distortion.

"Crystalize" is supposed to be an allegory for drunk driving. It's confusing, disorienting, and overall just a very unpleasant experience, which was the general vibe this song was supposed to give. The abrupt cutoff is meant to represent a crash, while the sounds that follow are meant to represent the "driver" in this case being hospitalized and later dying. It's a weird-ass song about a bad situation.

Ah yes, "Whitespace" is the only track on the album that I forgot existed. It was originally not supposed to be on the album, but then we decided it fit there anyway. We did as best as we could to make it work, but I personally think that this is the least enjoyable track to listen to off the album.

"SmokeOut!!" was originally not supposed to be for the album as far as I remember, but I just expanded on it for fun and it went from there. So yeah.

"Be Yourself" was during the period where this album's progress got halted because my phone had been taken, which I used to make music at the time, so I had to go back to 2020 and make music on my school computer like I did then.

"Evasive" was the last track made for the album, but was the probably the track that took the longest to make, as the making of it spanned across more than two months.

"Ballad" is a goodbye song. Hopefull the flute doesn't ruin it too much. I kinda don't like its addition, but everything needs a flaw to stand out.
